Tim Mathiesen Steps In As Director of Communications
I am pleased to announce that Tim Mathiesen has accepted the call to step into the role of Director of Communications & Prayer for the Church of the Lutheran Brethren (CLB).
Tim is married to Jenny, and they have three girls (Ellie 17, Anna 14, Britta 10). They are members of Bethel Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, MN. Tim has been serving as the Media Relations Coordinator for the CLB since October 2021. Before that, he served as Director of Communications & Prayer for the Church of the Lutheran Brethren when the position was first created in 2008. In 2014, Tim transferred to the position of Director of Communication & Connection at Bethel Lutheran Church (Fergus Falls, MN) as they were preparing to launch a second campus in Battle Lake.
Tim grew up in Japan where his parents Gaylan and Joy Mathiesen served as missionaries for 11 years. His passion is to see God's Disciple-Making Mission moving forward in our own communities and around the world, reaching more and more people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:14
With his years of experience in communications and digital media, he is excited to be a part of helping the CLB tell its story of planting churches, equipping and caring for existing congregations; sending missionaries to the unreached people around the world; and training future pastors, missionaries, and church leaders.
Please pray for Tim in his new role, for his family as he makes this transition, and for the Church of the Lutheran Brethren as we continue to be a Disciple-Making Church.
