The following is an update from Regional Pastor Warren Geraghty:
Eastern Region Hurricane Sandy Update
It has been about 24 hours since “Sandy” came to the northeastern U.S. Some areas have experienced wide spread power outages, property and environmental damage and some loss of life.
As for our Lutheran Brethren churches here, so far, they seem to be doing OK. The challenge is, due to loss of electricity, I have only been able to connect with about a third of our pastors.
Our greatest need right now is for prayer. Please pray for our pastors and parishioners as they support each other and their communities during this challenging time. Some may not have electricity for 7-10 days. Pray too that, through ministering to needs, the Gospel would eventually be shared.
I will keep you posted as more news comes in.
